Message from CEO

Thank you for visiting our Kumjin Shipping’s website.

Founded in October 1995 as the national marine cargo transportation company, Kumjin Shipping is trying its best as a leading company in the marine cargo transportation field.

Starting as Burim Shipping, Kumjin Shipping moved its headquarters to Busan, the main base for marine cargo transportation, in October 1999 and newly changed its company name to Kumjin Shipping for renewal.

At present, Kumjin Shipping is serving and spotlighted as the marine transportation company that supplies raw materials required for national key industries including hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil, steel products including shipbuilding plate, cement, desulfurization limestone, plaster, and cokes for fuel.

Especially, Kumjin Shipping provides professional and specialized marine transportation service by converting small-quantity and high-expense land transportation cargo sent to west coastal region with relatively poor ports into high-quantity marine transportation by general carriers to reduce the logistics expense extensively.

In April 2002, Kumjin Shipping registered ship safety management agency business in Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and acquired “DOC (Document of Compliance)”. Kumjin Shipping is also involved in marine transportation business for safety management service on general carriers and chemical product carriers by own ships and excellent domestic and overseas national flag carriers.

In 2010, Kumjin Shipping was designated as “MAIN-BIZ” and “Excellent Safety Management Ship Company” and contributed on ship safety and marine environment pollution prevention. Such accomplishments show Kumjin Shipping’s leap toward a reliable mid-sized company.

Kumjin Shipping promises to try its best to develop into a shipping company that meets expectation of shippers by providing better and safer marine cargo transportation service and Kumjin Shipping also asks for continuous cooperation and supports from clients.
